Introducing D2L Brightspace

Bow Valley College uses D2L Brightspace as our online course management system. In D2L, you can find content, participate in discussions, write exams, and check your grades. Even if you are taking in-person classes, your instructor may use some of the features in D2L.You may see and hear it called by a variety of different names - D2L, Desire to Learn, Brightspace, Brightspace by D2L. All of these are referring to the same thing!  

This guide will help you learn some of the basics of D2L and how to use the most common tools.

To log into D2L, go to d2l.bowvalleycollege.ca.

****Important: Your classes will NOT show up in D2L until the first day of class. If you would like to practice using these tools in D2L, check out our demo course - AC:101 - Academic Success 101.

To navigate this guide

• On the left toolbar, click on the name of the tool you want to learn about.
• On the right side, check out the tabs on the top to flip between pages and learn more about how to use that D2L feature.
